Christmas Decorating in the Lounge

So finally I was 'allowed' to decorate our lounge room.
This year we've gone for stars as our 'theme' so here's a few snaps of what we did.

The fire place...
I covered four papier mâché letters, three in white card stock and one in an off white polka dot pattern, and made three 3d stars out of the left over white card stock.
I purchased the lantern, wicker star and mini wooden stars from hobby craft.

One of the garland is a series of small handmade tags printed to read 'Merry Christmas' another is a short piece of twine I attached punched circles and stars on wire to, and the final garland is around 100 mother of pearl button I spent my evenings threading together.

We've gone for an indoor wreath so I could try out making coffee filter flowers!
Using willow make a simple rustic looking wreath, take around 8 coffee filters and wiggle cut around the edges and one at a time scrunch the layers up and then fan out and attach with wire.

Seeing a picture on Pintrest I got hold of some tulle, lace and sheer ribbons and tied a small strand around every bulb.

I then gently laid them on out small table which lit up the corner and gives such a nice soft glow.

Finally the tree...

The top of the tree is adorned with a wicker star (from hobby craft)

Simple white lights and white baubles and stars (again) fill out the tree. Then I took some super simple lightly woven hessian ribbon and loosely wrapped around the tree.

The presents are all wrapped in either white or brown parcel paper, some are secured with twine and each has their own handmade tag.

Merry Christmas
